AMAFCA has received approval from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the remapping of the 100-year, high-hazard floodplains in the southwest mesa area. The area is generally bounded by Gun Club Rd. to the north, MRGCD’s Isleta Drain to the east, Los Padillas Rd. to the south, and the Pajarito Escarpment to the west. Many of the floodplains were revised to lower flood risk categories, and to reflect drainage and flood control infrastructure constructed by AMAFCA and Bernalillo County since the last map update.
