Last month, Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority (AMAFCA) received notice from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) that it was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for our Fiscal Year 2023 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). This award represents the gold standard of financial reporting ensuring transparency and requiring state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles.
Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority was created by the New Mexico State Legislature in 1963 for the purposes of protecting life and property in the greater Albuquerque area. AMAFCA is responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of facilities that provide regional flood protection.
