Proper maintenance is critical to ensure the performance of flood control infrastructure. Sometimes, that maintenance requires localized replacements and improvements. The Agency and Area-Wide Flood Control Rehabilitation XII project will be doing critical improvements to 15 sites across the jurisdiction. Work began in late April in preparation for the upcoming monsoon season.

Compass removed three of four panels downstream of the CBCs at Jefferson St.

Borrega Channel

Compass completed both concrete rundowns to capture adjacent private property runoff and direct it into the Borrega Channel, minimizing erosions and undercutting.

Removal of portion of existing edge of shotcrete slope protection with voids and erosions underneath.

Repaired section of shotcrete with cutoff wall and compaction. Repair project included installation of new pill box manhole, regrading of area between AMAFCA maintenance road and the slope protection, installation of new equestrian gate and improvements to convey smaller surface flow from roadway to the South Diversion Channel.
Ladera Channel
Repair on the maintenance road at the corner of Parkwest Dr. NW and Windward Dr. NW. to fix erosions and voids underneath. Adjacent channel was also affected, and portion of the channel was also removed and replaced.

Two additional channel repairs were performed on the Ladera Channel downstream of Parkwest Dr. NW.

Repair to headwall and channel that had settled and separated from one another.

Same repair downstream of Ventana Ranch Rd, concrete channel section has been removed, rebar has been installed and Compass’ water protection pipe and berm held back nuisance water that had entered the channel.
