Project Goal: Proper maintenance is critical to ensure the performance of flood control infrastructure. Sometimes, that maintenance requires localized replacements and improvements. The Agency and Area-Wide Flood Control Rehabilitation XII project will be making critical improvements to 15 sites across the jurisdiction. Work began in late April 2025 (in preparation for the monsoon season) and is scheduled to continue until December 2026.
Hahn Arroyo

Shown here are the before and after photos of the January 2026 repair to a damaged section of the Hahn Arroyo at its intersection with Carlisle Blvd. Before, exposed rebar was sticking out of damaged concrete. The entire section was demolished and rebuilt with new reinforced concrete, one half of the channel at a time (so that the exposed channel could be protected from any water in the arroyo). The final water protection berm, which has since been removed, can still be seen in the second photo.
Embudito Channel

In December 2025, Compass repaired two sections of the Embudito channel: at Menaul Boulevard NE and at Moon Street NE. At both locations, existing concrete was removed and new concrete and rebar installed.
